Obituary of Peter D. Funk

On Thursday, December 5th, 2013 at 5:15 a.m., Peter D. Funk, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, heard his Savior say "well done my good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your reward" He is survived by his loving wife Nettie (nee Martens), two daughters: Yvonne (Cliff) Inscho, Melinda (Dan) Scheper; one daughter-in-law Karen; three sons: Ed (Lorna), Mel (Brenda), Barry (Cheri);14 grandchildren and their spouses, 30 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Jacob (Tina), Paul, Andrew (Marg), Victor (Martha), Bill (Maggie); four sisters: Tina (Ike) Dyck, Helen (Henry) Voth, Anne (Rueben) Fehr, Lydia (Vic) Dyck; two sisters-in-law: Lilly and Esther; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Tim, Aug 7 2004; five great-grandchildren, his parents Katherina and Franz R. Funk, two brothers Frank and John, one sister Maria Dyck, and one brother-in-law Peter A Dyck. We will miss you dearly, but until then our hearts will go on singing... The memorial service was held on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Springs Church, Steinbach, Manitoba with interment at Grunthal Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Duerksen and the staff at Bethesda Hospital, Dr. McMahon, Wendy and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Pastor Jeff Romas, Springs Church in Steinbach and Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
