On Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB, our dad, Earl Frey, age 86, passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side. Earl was born on September 22, 1924 in Peel County, Ontario. He was the eldest son of Eli and Magdalina Frey. Earl married Ermina Clemmer, his lifelong partner, on June 4, 1947. They had 64 wonderful years. Together they raised three daughters, Dianne (Andy) Watchorn, Karen (Dave) Barkman, and Brenda (Harv) Wiens. He is survived by two brothers Alvin (Lydian), Len (Mildred) and his sister Marie (Don) Brubacher. He was predeceased by was predeceased by one daughter (Ruth) in infancy, three brothers and two sisters. “You will be lovingly remembered by your devoted wife, your daughters and their husbands, eight grandchildren and their partners and 19 great grandchildren. You left a great legacy for all of us, dad! You have fought the good fight, you finished the race, you kept the faith. We are proud of you! Dad you always had a positive and thankful outlook in life giving encouragement to many. You were a man of great faith and courage and led by example. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bethesda Hospital for their care and dedication. Special thanks to you, Dr. Minnaar for the excellent care you gave our dad over the years. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Friday, March 25 at 7:00 with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. also at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
