Selma Barkman, 88, of Steinbach, formerly of Whitemouth, MB and Bredenbury, SK, passed away at Maplewood Manor on Sunday, April 10, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband Minister Martin Barkman in 2008, one granddaughter and one great grandson. She is survived by her children; Denton (June), Ann (Roland) Warkentin, Ken (Marlis), all of Cartwright, MB, Carol (David) Friesen of Roblin, MB, Irene (Burt) Friesen of Saltcoats, SK, Don (Charlene) of Bredenbury, SK, Garry (Bonnie) Creston, BC, and their families; one sister Laura Barkman of Steinbach and two brothers Leonard (Mitzi) of Steinbach and Ron (Tina) of Killarney. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. with a devotional at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Steinbach with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
