Mary Rempel, nee Sawatzky, 89 of Winnipeg passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on her 89th birthday, July 25. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Peter, in 2003, by her sister, Margaret Wiens, in 2007, and her son-in-law, Dietrich Warkentin, in Feb. 2008. She is survived by her children: Rudy, Mary (Edd) Funk, Betty (Arno) Jansen, Susan Warkentin, Elsie (Peter) Rempel, and son, Peter, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Reimer, her brother, Bill (Mary) Sawatzky, many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch St. at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, with burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
