Obituary of Peter H. Doerksen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Doerksen, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Bethesda Place, Steinbach. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years Clara (nee Pederson), his eight children and their spouses, Lina (Maurice), Bert (Jackie), Fred (Phylis), Bev (Raye), Marvin (Jasmine), Marilyn (Mitch), Marlene (Glen), Marie (Dan); as well as Sharon of Birds Hill and Lori of Winnipeg; 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, one sister, a daughter Daphne, two sons Peter and Raymond. Besides being a proud and dedicated employee of the Manitoba Natural Resources, his greatest passion was being around his family. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude for all the expressions of sympathy received from family and friends. We’d like to thank Dr. Thiessen and extend special a thank you to the nursing staff at Blueberry Bay (Bethesda Place) who cared for Peter and our family members as if they were their own. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Larry Hirst officiating. Viewing prior to the service.
