Reverend Peter Peters of Winnipeg died October 28, 2008 at 87 at Concordia Hospital. He was born February 4, 1921 in Herbert, Saskatchewan to Jacob and Helena (nee Braun) Peters. The family settled in Steinbach, MB where he met and married Hilda Funk. He spent his life in ministry beginning with church planting in Thompson, MB, the pastoral ministry in Lost River, SK, Carrot River, SK and ultimately his passion, hospital chaplaincy working at Health Sciences, St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals in Winnipeg. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Hilda and their six children; Steve (Ruth) Peters, Carol (Gary) Giesbrecht, Gloria (Vic) Mensch, Kathy (Rod) Alm, Rick (Shirley) Peters, Virginia (Mark) Sedelacek, 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at McIvor MB Church, 200 McIvor Ave, Wpg on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing on Sunday, November 2, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach and also Monday prior to the funeral service.
