On October 28, 2008 dad was called to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Saviour, at the age of 78. He leaves to cherish his loving wife of 54 years, Susie, his children and their spouses; Leroy & Jane, Gary, Debbie & Robert, Patricia & Dalen, Elaine & Mike, Curtis & Jacqueline and Myra & Chris. He is deeply loved and will also be remembered by 19 grandchildren. He is survived by 1 brother and 4 sisters. Leonard was reunited in heaven with 3 children who died in infancy, his parents and one sister. Leonard was born August 12, 1930 near McTavish, Manitoba. He married Susie Wiebe on September 26, 1954. Together they raised their family in Blumenort on their family farm. He retired from farming in 1996 and put his efforts into working for the LUD of Blumenort, working on the board at Oakwood Place and Oakview Manor, carpentry and watching his grandchildren in various sporting events. A celebration of dad’s life will be held at Blumenort Evangelical Mennonite Church on Sunday, November 2 at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Blumenort EMC Cemetery. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Ste. Anne Hospital, Debbie Krahn and the home care team for the wonderful care and kindness shown to dad.
