It is with earthly sadness that we mourn the loss of Lena Plett, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and especially a friend to many. Lena leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Bernice and Brenda, her son Barry, her grandchildren, Shawna, Morrissa, Meralie, Andrea, William and Mitchel as well as a great grandchild Trey; her siblings Peter Penner, Abe (Lilian) Penner, Clara (Peter) Harms, Ben (Claudia) Penner and Martha (Ike) Fehr. Lena was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Helen Penner, her husband Walter in 1996, two sisters-in-law, Helen and Lydia Penner. But we don’t mourn as those who have no hope. We, the family and friends, share the joy of Lena’s graduation to heaven, to join Jesus and the many others that went before her. We, as believers, can share their joy because at the age of 9, Lena accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour, was baptized on the profession of her faith at the Steinbach MB Church and followed Jesus till her passing. We rejoice that Lena is enjoying the precious promise of Jesus who said “I go to prepare a place for you.” We, the family, wish to express our appreciation and gratitude for all expressions of sympathy and kindness especially the doctors and nurses and staff at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, and the many friends who stopped by to pray and encourage.
