Obituary of Arthur Krentz

Art Krentz, age 86, husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep early Friday morning on the family farm. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Evelyn (Grienke) of 59 years. He is also survived by his children: Brian, Kurtis (Jennifer), Sheldon (Hélène), Bradley and five grandchildren, Tabrina, Jayden (Jessica), Amber, Daphne and Brielle. He is also survived by his siblings Matilda Mehling, Roy (Lena) Krentz and Elsie Biedler. He was predeceased by his parents Christof and Emilie Krentz, son Darryl, one sister Ida (Emmanuel) Fender, and brother-in-laws Edward Biedler and Fred Mehling. Art was born May 3, 1925 on the farm that has been in the family for the past 120 years. He was baptized May 17, 1925 and confirmed on April 7, 1939. In 1951 on September 28 he married Evelyn Grienke and spent his working years as a carpenter and farmer. Art was an avid gardener, enjoyed dancing and playing card games with his family and friends. After retiring, he spent most of his time building crafts in his workshop. We love you and will forever cherish the many fond memories you have left us with. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Monday, May 30 at 7:00 with devotional at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the St Paul Lutheran Church, 465 Henry, Steinbach on Tuesday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hwy #12 S. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Steinbach, MB
