Obituary of Margaret Froese

Margaret Froese, nee Dueck, passed away January 31st, 2009 with her family by her side. In October 2008, she was diagnosed with lung cancer, and spent the last 4 months at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach. She was born, March 20th, 1922 in New Samara, North Russia, coming to Canada with her family in 1926. After a short stay in Niverville, they farmed in Boissevain. In 1945 she married Abram John Froese of Manitou. They farmed in Boissevain and raising 4 children: Lillian, Sharon, Edith, and Wes. Margaret was a faithful servant to the Boissevain MB Church and other congregations as Abe pastored while they farmed. Margaret served others in Brandon, Manitou, Justice, Killarney, and moved to Niverville in 1999. Margaret volunteered by serving other seniors, and making health kits for MCC. Besides her children and their families, she is survived by 2 siblings, Mary Wiebe of Morden, and Peter Dueck of Abbotsford, and numerous in-laws. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Monday, February 2 at 7:00 p.m. with at devotional at 7:30 p.m. and prior to the service. The funeral service will also be held Tuesday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. also at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at the Boissevain Cemetery on Wednesday, 11: a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the Boissevain Mennonite Brethren Church.
