On Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. John W. Dyck of Steinbach, Manitoba passed away at Bethesda Hospital. At the age of 75, John leaves behind his wife Ruby, his wife of 52 years and nine months. He is survived by five children, his daughters Grace (David) Hayden of Calgary, Alberta, Victoria (Joe) Tencha of La Broquerie, his son John G. of Steinbach, his daughters Linda (Ken) Sobering of La Broquerie and Virginia Martens of Altona. He also leaves to mourn 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. John was predeceased by his parents John and Justina (Wall), four brothers and four sisters as well as his mother and father-in-law. His love of his home, family, yard work and jobs were all admirable qualities. His gentle voice and quiet demeanor will be sorely missed by all those whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John’s memory to Bethesda Cancer Care Unit, Steinbach or the Canadian Cancer Society – Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street; Wpg., MB R3C 2B7 The memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who took such wonderful care of John, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; as well as the staff of Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
