Obituary of Dorothy Stoesz-Foster

On Monday, March 2nd, 2009 our mother, Dorothy Stoesz – Foster gently passed away at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba. Mom would have celebrated her 86th birthday in just a couple of months. Mom was predeceased by her first husband of 48 years, Bill Stoesz, in 1993, her parents Abram and Anna Hiebert, and many of her brothers and sisters. Mom will be sadly missed by her husband Thomas Foster of Winnipeg and his family and by her children Marlene (Harry Steingart) Stoesz, Sandra (Larry) Doerksen, Eldon (Shelleen) Stoesz and Heather Stoesz and her sisters Linda Gerbrandt, Edna (Andy) Krahn and brother Bert (Goergeann) Hiebert, and her in-laws Ed and Sara Stoesz, Jake and Helen Wiebe and Sharon Gerbrandt. Mom is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Mark, Chris, Angela, Erica, David, Derrick, Kali and Connor and four great grandchildren. Mom will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, artistic skills in quilting and crocheting and of course her delicious cooking and baking that she loved to do for others. We would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of Home Care workers, nurses and doctors that took such great care of Mom. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfield Drive, Steinbach, MB. A private family interment will be done in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee - MCC Manitoba; 134 Plaza Drive; Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9. Call 1-888-622-6337 or donate online at www.mcc.org
