It is with deep sadness we announce that Walter Pederson passed away on April 13, 2009, at the great age of 96 years. Walter was a long time resident of Wampum, MB, where he was born on August 11, 1912. Left to mourn are his daughter Diana (Robert) Fortin, son Earl Pederson, step-children Albert Sigurdson, Conrad Sigurdson, Kenny Sigurdson, George Sigurdsen, Elsie Yurechka, Ruth (Lloyd) Thompson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his wife Edith (Anderson) and his son Larry Pederson. We want to express our gratitude to all friends, neighbours, nurses, health care workers, and all others that were involved in the care and support given to our father and to us in our times of need. Thank you. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Vassar Community Hall with ash interment at a later date.
