Vern Ernest Penner Vern Penner, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly on June 2, 2007 at his home on the farm in New Bothwell, MB. Vern was born August 4, 1941 in the Hanover Municipality. He was predeceased by his parents Pete and Kay (Klippenstein) and siblings Lorna and Jones. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Anne (nee Doerksen), son Sheldon (Joyce Klassen), daughter Sharon (George) Bueckert, grandchildren Jessica and Alexander, three brothers Wayne (Elsie), Peter (Mary), Elmer (Mary), two sisters Erna (Ed) Dueck, Leona (Harry) Banman, stepmother Debbie, stepsisters Joyce (John), Colleen (Bill) and many other elatives and friends. Vern was a very outgoing person. He loved people and always went out of his way to make new coffee friends. He was passionate about sports and farming. He loved working on the backhoe at Diamond Construction. Vern loved his family and enjoyed spending time with relatives at family gatherings. Thanks to everyone who has participated and for all the prayers. “To God be the glory, great things He has done.” Donations may be made on Vern’s behalf to the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church or to the Children’s Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Wpg., MB R3C 3J2 Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie, Steinbach on Thursday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Randolph Cemetery.
