Esther Gerbrandt (nee Peters) of Steinbach Manitoba went to be with the Lord at the age of 76, July 9, 2011 with her children at her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Frieda Gerbrandt, Edna Gerbrandt, Mathilda Gerbrandt, Irvin Gerbrandt, Barb and Clarence Falk, Elma and Ron Wiens, Lotte Duerloo, Olga and Derek Neufeld, Irene and Jason Plett, eight grandchildren, five brothers, three sisters, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Peter on June 30, 2002, father in 1975, mother in 1996, one sister and four children. Mom devoted her life to caring for her family and friends, as well as working as a home care attendant for many years. She was deeply devoted to the Lord whom she strove to follow faithfully every day. Her greatest desire was that everyone dear to her would follow Christ and join her in heaven. “Be faithful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12 Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Tuesday, July 12 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church 479 Hanover, Steinbach with interment at the Silberfeld CMC Cemetery.
