It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Markus David Edward Doerksen at the Children's Hospital on Monday, June 8, 2009 at the age of one week. Markus was born June 1, 2009 at the Women’s Pavilion to Stan and Cari Doerksen. He fought hard to get stable to have surgery to fix a diaphragmatic hernia but it was not to be. Markus leaves to mourn his passing, his parents Stan and Cari, grandmother Grace Heckert and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents David and Mary Doerksen, Edward Heckert, his aunt Phyllis Sobering and uncle Eddy Doerksen. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Hwy 12 South. The family wishes to thank Dr. Carol Schneider, Dr Biere, Dr Saysha and the nurses and staff of the Children's Hospital NICU ward, and the staff of the Women’s Pavilion in Winnipeg. Though Markus's stay with us was brief he was deeply loved and our little angel will never be forgotten.
