Elizabeth was born to Jacob and Anna Koop on August 13, 1928 and passed away to her eternal home with Christ her Saviour on June 20, 2009 at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her beloved husband Sam of Kleefeld. Early in life she developed an endearing ability with children in teaching Sunday School and DVBS. Her career as a school teacher started at Blumenort, MB and continued in Costa Rica where she taught for 5 years. She married Samuel Wiens in 1960. She taught at Gruenfeld, Hochstadt and Rocky School Districts after teaching in Northern Manitoba at Oxford House and Snow Lake. She played a role in running Koop Nursery which was started by her father. She looked after her parents in their sunset years and took in youngsters who needed a home. She developed arthritis and met many people through home care and hospital stays and she greatly appreciated the help they gave, also at the Menno Home in Grunthal. We miss you Elizabeth. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
