HONORA WOODMAN (NEE COOK) It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Aunt, Great Aunt, “Grandmother” and friend at Betel Home Gimli, MB in her 100th year on July 19, 2009. Nora was born in England on April 2, 1910 and lived her full life in Winnipeg, Winnipeg Beach and Gimli. Nora is survived by her nieces and nephews: Jo-Anne Doig, Bob (Cheryl) Doig, John (Sharon) Doig, Tom Doherty, Pat (Irv) Taylor, Roberta (Les) Mitchell, Jean (Paul) Pelland, Morna June Morrow, Eunice Morrow and several great nieces and nephews. Nora will be missed by special friend Nellie Graboweski and her family who were very special to her. Honora was predeceased by her husband Cecil in 2001, sisters, Esme Doherty, Molly Doig, brothers, Ernie, Cecil and Tom. Nora enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, baking, reading, singing and playing the organ at church. She was also noted for her volunteerism and philanthropy. Nora was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach, and St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Gimli. The family extends their appreciation to the Betel Home Staff for their kindness and concern. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach with Nora’s long time friend, Father Art Seaman officiating. Interment will be in the Polish Pioneer Cemetery, Sandy Hook, MB. Nora’s pallbearers will be: Tom Doherty, Bob Doig, Terry Allen, Ben Graboweski, John Pawluk and John E. Pawluk. Nora would like to consider all her friends her Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. We will always love you and miss you dearly.
