In loving memory of our dear Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Mom passed away December 23, 2010 at Grunthal Menno Home at the age of 82 years, 11 months, seven days. She was born January 16, 1928 to parents Peter and Maria Friesen. Mom got married December 21, 1944 at the age of 16 to Peter D. Dueck also from Rosengard. They had six children and lived in Rosengard until Dad passed away. Then Mom moved to Fernwood Place. In April 2010 she moved to the Vita Personal Care Home and November 26 she moved to Grunthal Menno Home where she passed away December 23 at 9:35 a.m. She is survived by her children, Peter (Helen) of Kleefeld, Mary (Bernie) Pohl of Edson, Alberta, Jake (Margaret) of Rosengard, Ed (Marci) of Steinbach, Lawrence (Sue) of Rosengard, Betty (Russ) Harder of Steinbach; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann (Frank) Dyck and Agatha (Abe) Fehr and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Peter, her parents Peter Friesen, Maria Ginter, step-father Jacob Ginter, son-in-law Leonard Thiessen and brother Pete. Although we will miss her dearly, we are glad we had her as our mother. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover St, Steinbach with interment at the Rosengard CMC Cemetery.
