<p>Peacefully, at home on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 4:01 p.m., Robert James Prior surrendered to a new adventure where there is no pain, a better place where his spirit soars.</p> <p>Well remembered as a business owner with Emerald Lights Billiards and coffee house in Steinbach, Robert was an accomplished woodworker, drafting and design engineer with Buhler/Versatile. He also enjoyed carpentry, was a musician who loved to play the guitar and mandolin, sailing, motorcycles, Tesla&rsquo;s theory and electric cars.</p> <p>He was predeceased by his two brothers and friends: Don and Garrel; his loving stepmother Linda, &amp; just last month his caring father, Bart.</p> <p>Robert is survived by his wife Nicole(Nikki), his children: Candace, Jackie(Nick), and Andrea(Cory); grandchildren: Max, Aiden, Owen, Liam; his step children: Monique,(Squanto), Marty(Alica), Bruno(Angie), Natalie(Trevor); grandchildren: Tristan, Ethan, Cody, Jazmine, Jordan, Sky-Lynn, Autumn, Kaitlynn, Snow, Caleb, Mason; his sisters: Sharon(Jim), Karen(Owen), Darlene(Gord), Jan(Don): brothers: Terry(Deidre), Ed(Shawna); as well as his mother Ruby(Doug).</p> <p>Special thanks to Southern health palliative care coordinator Brigitte and Dr. Reimer, homecare coordinator Yvonne and her team of nurses which enabled Robert to stay home during his final days over Christmas.</p> <p>Heartfelt appreciation to his long-term healthcare support worker, Lori Tepleski. Robert and Lori developed a love/hate relationship over the years that enabled both to last to the very end.</p> <p>Robert was a gem, a great companion with a sense of humor, (he had to be, married to Nicole); was often called the victim by his wife&rsquo;s friend. When faced with terminal cancer, his reaction was &ldquo;It&rsquo;s been a good ride.&rdquo;</p> <p>He creates a huge gap in the lives of all those who knew and loved him. &ldquo;His spirit lives on&rdquo;</p> <p>Cremation has taken place.</p>
