Obituary of Margaretha Neufeld

Surrounded by family, Margaretha Neufeld of Steinbach, formerly of Mitchell passed away at the Bethesda Hospital on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the age of 81 years. It pleased the Lord to take her home after a brief battle with cancer. Margaretha was born May 6, 1928 to Peter H. and Elisabeth Hildebrandt on the family homestead near New Bothwell, Manitoba. In May 1946 she was baptized on the confession of her faith in the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, Randolph, MB. On October 14, 1948 she married the love of her life, Jacob, and together they shared 60 years of what life had to offer. She is survived by her husband Jacob H. Neufeld, her children: Deanne (Art) Hildebrand, Ed (Sharon), Emily (Ed) Kehler, Janet (Edwin) Schroeder, Sandra (Harry) Funk, Lorraine (Larry) Wiebe and their families, as well as by one sister, four brothers. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and one great granddaughter. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover St, Steinbach with interment at the Mitchell Memorial Gardens (Mitchell C.M.C. Cemetery).
