Peter Goertzen, 88, of Mitchell, MB passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Bethesda Hospital. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, 11 children, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as three sisters and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Minnaar, Nicole, Christine and the rest of the nursing staff at Bethesda Hospital for taking good care of him, especially during his last days in palliative care. We would also like to thank Brad Unger of Birchwood Funeral Chapel for his graciousness during this difficult time. Viewing will take place Tuesday, October 6, 7:00 pm with a devotional at 7:30 pm at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach. The funeral will take place Wednesday, Oct 7, at the Christian Fellowship Church, 417 Hanover Street, Steinbach, with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
