Elsa was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward in 2007 and her daughter Donna Bartel in 2008. She was also predeceased by her parents Christof and Emilie Krentz. Remaining to cherish her memory are her children Sheila (Bud), Rick (Doris), Merna, Vivian, Warren (Lori) Lana, Tanis (Wayne), son-in-law Roy Bartel, and grandchildren. Elsa was born in Steinbach on July 13,1926 and grew up on the Krentz family farm. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Friedensfeld. She married Edward Biedler on September 22, 1950. Through the years they were blessed with two sons and six daughters. With the exception of two years in Thunder Bay, mom and dad spent their entire lives on the family farm. In her - spare time mom loved to garden and tend to her flower beds. Mom also had a talent for sewing and told us how as young girl she would make outfits for herself from her brothers’ old suits. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren whenever possible. The family would like to express appreciation to Dr. .Karen Toews and her staff for their care and attention to our Mother. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Sunday, September 11 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m. the St Paul Lutheran Church in Steinbach with interment at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hwy #12 South, RM of Hanover.
