Obituary of Alfred J. Reimer

Peacefully, with family at his side, Alfred Reimer passed away on the 13th of November 2009. Alf leaves Anna, his loving wife of 67 years, and five children: Brian (Carolyn), Jean, Elaine (Len Friesen), Gwen (JP Chartrand), and Steve (Diane Driedger). He was Grandpa to Hilary and Erin, Matthew and Alex. AIf is survived by four brothers, Elmer (Tina), Arley (Katie), Johnny (Rachel), Albert (Bobbi Joy) and one sister, Betty (John Enns). He was predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Les. Alfred was the eldest son of Gertrude (Boese) and Frank E. Reimer, born in Saskatchewan on July 10, 1918. He was raised in Dalmeny and at the age of 20 he moved to Steinbach. AIf was a long-time businessman in Steinbach, owner of Alf’s Radio and Electric for over 60 years. He was a faithful member of the Steinbach EMB Church (Cornerstone Bible Church) for as many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Haven Group (Rest Haven Nursing Home), 177 Woodhaven, Steinbach, MB, R5G 1K7 or to the Hope and Care Group of the Cornerstone Bible Church of Steinbach. Viewing to be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, 290 First St, Steinbach on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Bible Church, with interment at Memorial Cemetery, Steinbach.
