Obituary of Paul Joseph Semko

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing away of Paul Semko at Ste. Anne Hospital at the age of 68 years. Remaining to forever cherish Paul’s memory are his loving wife Noëlla of 41 years, and his three sons, Robert, Gilbert and Maurice. Paul will also be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his nine grandchildren: Jasmine, Taylor, Danielle, Austin, Kayla, Donavan, Coral, Kaz and Ravynn; five sisters: Jeanne, Rose Marie, Aurore, Lorraine and Diane; four brothers: George, Roger, Jerry and Marcel; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He will also be greatly missed by the three men in his care: Grant, Alain and Johnny. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Hélène, and a sister, Alice. Paul worked as a truck driver and as a mechanic. He was also very skilled at carpentry and doing all types of renovations. He enjoyed travelling, camping, reading, singing and playing guitar. Paul was very kind-hearted and when someone called he was always ready to help. He enjoyed serving on the board of Dawson Trail Opportunities where he made many friends. Paul and Noëlla were married on December 23, 1967 and remained inseparable to the end. Special thanks to the First Responders and the staff of Ste. Anne Hospital for their compassionate care in his final hours. A heartfelt thank you to all those who have shown such care and compassion to his family in the days since Paul passed away. To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears; Be happy that we’ve had so many years. But now it’s time that I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if you must; It is only for a time that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away; And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear all of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way, I’ll greet you with a smile and say, “Welcome Home.” A funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach on Wednesday, December 2, 7:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service at 6:30 p.m.
