<p>On to the next great adventure&hellip; In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 6, 2018, Barry passed from this life into the next &ndash; at home, after a wonderful evening of remembering his life, with family and friends all around. No doubt, he is now celebrating again with loved ones in the presence of our good Lord, as we wait to all be reunited again. <br /><br />Barry will always be loved by his wife Carmelle; his daughter Chantelle and her husband Jason, and the three grandchildren whom he loved so deeply &ndash; Annabelle, Janelle, and Jesse. He is also survived and loved by his sister Theresa, brother Neil, sister-in-law Lorraine and their families; as well as all of his in-laws, nephews and nieces and their families. He loved and was loved by his many, many friends who were, really, family as well &ndash; his best buddies were his brothers and sisters too.<br /><br />In Barry&rsquo;s world &ndash; in his heart &ndash; there was more than enough room for everyone. Growing up, Barry was always surrounded by family and friends. You only had to meet him once, and you became his friend. After graduating and leaving home, he tried a few professions out, and settled on business. Most importantly, he met and set his sights on Carmelle, and was swept away by her more than he&rsquo;d been by any wave while in the Coast Guard. They married, and a short time later settled in La Broquerie, buying and running their insurance and LC businesses there. Barry loved his new community of La Broquerie and was very proud to serve it over the years. He also discovered his lifelong passion for quadding and spent many of the most enjoyable hours of his life surrounded by his buddies on the trails, in the outdoors that he regarded as his spiritual home. The cabin at St. Labre was another place that was very special to Barry and Carm. He loved sharing it with those close to them. All that said, nothing was as special as having Chantelle; watching her grow and become a beautiful wife and mother to Jason and his three most precious gifts - his grandkids. Not long after being diagnosed with Huntington&rsquo;s Disease, Barry and Carmelle moved to their beautiful home outside of town, and he retired. There he continued to enjoy family and friends and was mercifully symptom-free until his brain cancer diagnosis. Even throughout these last few months of his life, he expressed no regrets &ndash; he&rsquo;d tell anyone that he&rsquo;d had a great life and was the luckiest man alive. <br /><br />A Liturgy of the Word funeral will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim Parish,&nbsp;107 rue Principale, La Broquerie, MB, with a lunch reception immediately afterward at La Centre de l&rsquo;Amiti&eacute; across the street. Interment will follow at a later date. <br /><br />Barry&rsquo;s family would like to thank everyone who was a part of his life for the joy they brought him. Know that you were all loved by him very much, and may God bless you all.</p>
