Obituary of Wendy Jeanette Persowich

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our dear wife, mother, daughter, (in-law), sister (in-law), aunt, Wendy Jeanette Persowich on June 29, 2006 at St. Boniface Palliative Care, at the age of 45. Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her loving and devoted husband, Edward of 24 years and the three most precious lights of her life, son Evan, daughters Brianna and Meagan. Also left to cherish her memory are her parents, Nick and Nettie Boychuk, father- in- law John Persowich Sr., one brother Wayne (Lynn), sisters Sonia (Brian), Audrey (Orest), Bonnie (Wesley) and Connie, brothers-in-law John Jr. (Joyce), Gary (Bonnie), sisters-in-law Chris (Alec), Judy, Pat, Jacquie (Bob), Irene (Jan), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many other family and friends. Wendy was predeceased by her mother-in-law Marion. Wendy was born July 30, 1960 in Sundown, MB. She was raised and made her home in Sundown. Wendy married Edward on August 8, 1981. Together they began their life and raised three children. Wendy made her career as an Administration Office Coordinator working for the South Eastman/Vita Health Centre for 26 years before her battle with cancer. She was an active member of the St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Women’s Auxiliary. Wendy took great pride and joy in supporting Evan, Brianna and Meagan’s sporting activities as well as their academic accomplishments. Wendy’s all-around good nature and friendship, along with her warning smile and sense of humour will be lovingly remembered by everyone she has touched. She always put a smile on your face. Prayer service will be held on Sunday, July 2nd at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sirko, MB on Monday July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wendy’s memory to the Manitoba Cancer Care or a charity of choice. “Thank you, Mom, for being there through all the changes in our lives, for sharing the happy times, easing the hurts of our bad times, for believing in us and most of all, for your love”…love Evan, Brianna, Meagan.
