Anne Klassen of Steinbach passed away at Rest Haven Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at the age of 85. Anne was born in Grünfeld, Russia in 1920 to Martin and Anna Penner and immigrated to Canada at the age of 21 where she met and married Henry H. Klassen. Together they operated a poultry farm in the Ste. Anne area and later retired to Steinbach. After the death of her husband she transferred to Rest Haven Nursing Home where she remained until the time of her passing. She is survived by sons Ed (Dora) of Steinbach, Will (Linda) of BC, Victor (Jean) of Steinbach and Ervin (Denise) of Steinbach; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister Tina Penner of Steinbach. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 2000 and granddaughter Jamie in 2005. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Saturday, July 15 at 2 pm with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery.
