Obituary of Aileen Burridge

It is with sadness that our family and extended family witnessed the passing of Aileen Winifred Burridge on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. She went peacefully surrounded by her family at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg. Born 1924 in Winnipeg, MB she was the daughter of the late Edward George Eckton and Irene Barr Eckton. Aileen worked with the Public Service for many years, she loved cats and her favorite pastimes were cross stitch, completing puzzles and sharing meals with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Gloria Cameron (Murray) of Shellbrook, SK, Janice Drown (Bryan) of Hamilton, ON, Jeannie Sutton (Laurie) of Souris, MB, and Karon Pentland (Clint) of Morden, MB; sons William Laird (Robin) of Kingston, NS and Tim Burridge (Gale) of Winnipeg MB; cherished by her 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sister Phyllis Blair of Winnipeg, MB; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband James Campbell Laird and her second husband Victor Leroy Burridge; sister Dorothy Vasey; and brother Edward Eckton. Her mind and spirit were the strongest but her body failed to thrive. Subject to her wishes she will cremated and interment will follow at a private family ceremony.
