She is also survived by her sister Margaret Stott and sisters-in-law Cecily and Irene Wallace and Nonie Edwards. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Mina Wallace (McCaw), brothers Bill, Donald, John; granddaughter Lesley Leppky (1980) and son-in-law Kenneth Peter Leppky (2000). Born May 29th, 1919 she was raised in the Kingswood School District where she attended a one room school. Mom and Dad were married Nov. 13, 1943 and farmed at Niverville until 1990. She was employed at Wm. Dyck & Sons in Niverville for many years. After relocating to St. Pierre, MB they enjoyed retirement that included golf, travel, family and friends. In 2006 they moved to the Chalet Malouin in St. Malo, MB. Due to declining health, Mary became a resident of the Vita & District Personal Care Home in Feb 2009. Over the years Mary participated in curling, golf and quilting. In the community she was a member of the Niverville United Church and was pleased to receive a Lifetime Membership from the Women’s Institute of Manitoba. Mom loved family time. Picnics at the farm, making sure everyone had enough to eat, encouraging activities such as a ball game or horse shoes, playing cards or board games were all intended to teach the importance of how to socialize not only with family but with everyone. She and Dad were always interested in meeting new people and attended dances throughout the District. Dad says she was a dream to dance with. She was a warm generous person who was a great cook, a gracious hostess and a wonderful wife and mother. The family would like to thank the Vita and District PCH and the Chalet Malouin for the loving care provided to our mother. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Niverville United Church on Friday, February 12th, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Ash interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Niverville United Church Memorial Fund, 55 1st St. N, Niverville, MB R0A 1E0.
