ELIZABETH FLEMING On February 15, 2010 Elizabeth Fleming (nee Leighton) passed away at the age of 83 at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Elizabeth passed on peacefully, surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Ronald in 2000. She was born in England where she met and married Ron. She came to Canada with her first son Andrew, following her beloved husband Ron to make a new life for the family. After they had settled on Bowman Avenue in East Kildonan, Ron and Elizabeth joyously welcomed their second son Timothy. Mom loved her homeland of Yorkshire, England but had settled into life in Canada. She maintained her generous heart and sharp wit throughout her life. She was not a good joke teller but was never without a quick comeback or one of her sayings from the old country. Mom was an avid painter for her whole life and enjoyed listening to Pavarotti, watching ice skating, gardening, sewing and of course her family. Elizabeth is survived by her sons Andrew (Sandy) and Timothy; grandchildren Jennifer Youzwa (Aaron), Chris (Jasmine), Kelly (Brock), Zach, Isaiah, Danielle and Matthew; great grandchildren Bradley, Allison, Elias, Avery, Victor, Casey, Kiara and Contana. The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Youville for all their care, work and support over the years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Friday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
