Marina Isaac Our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Marina Giesbrecht Isaac was born to Peter and Agatha Giesbrecht on April 28, 1936 in Steinbach, Manitoba. God and His Angels summoned her home on July 12, 2007 at the Maplewood Manor in Steinbach, MB after a lengthy battle with cancer. As a young child, she moved from Ste. Anne to Kleefeld, MB where she spent most of her life. She gave her heart to the Lord and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite on December 5, 1948. On September 19, 1954, Mom joined hands in marriage with our Dad, Ted Isaac. Our parents shared nearly 53 years of love together as pilgrims on this road to eternity. They resided on our farm in Kleefeld where four sons and two daughters came to bless their union. Due to failing health, the last six months of Mom’s life were spent at the Maplewood Manor where she was compassionately and lovingly cared for by the staff. Mom enjoyed being a keeper of the home, spending many hours sewing. She carried a deep concern for us children and often encouraged us to follow the ways of the Lord. Left to cherish fond memories are: her husband Ted; her five children, Joan and Tony Toews of Kleefeld, MB; Burton and Ann of Grimshaw, Alberta; Errol of Edmonton, AB; Sharolyn and Delton Goossen of Abbotsford, British Columbia; Karl and Sue of Steinbach, MB. She will also be remembered by her nine grandchildren, three brothers Cliff and Hilda Giesbrecht of Mara, British Columbia; Lawrence and Dolores Giesbrecht of Winnipeg, MB; Peter and Julie Giesbrecht of Chilliwack, British Columbia; one sister, Adeline and Dennis Duerksen of Mitchell, MB; brother-in-law Walter and Joyce Friesen of Abbotsford, British Columbia. Preceding her in death are one son, Donald, her parents and three sisters. The funeral was held Monday, July 16 at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Kleefeld, MB with interment at the church cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Darren Reimer, CancerCare and palliative care for their support and care during her illness.
