Obituary of Joseph Pupeza
Joseph Pupeza was born on February 20, 1921 in Rosa, Manitoba. He is the son of John and Anna (ne Bzovey) Pupeza. He is survived by his brother William and sister Agnes Solaryk (nee Pupeza), and predeceased by his brother Peter and sister Mary Smooke (nee Pupeza).
Joe lived on the family farm at Rosa for most of his life, where he worked as a Beekeeper and occasional trapper. He had a love of dancing and music and was an accomplished, self-taught accordion player.
In later years, Joe was residing at the Menno Home in Grunthal, where he was well cared for by the nurses and staff.
Joe was a deeply religious man and embraced the Catholic faith. His spirituality was a very important part of his life and values.
Although Joe did not have children of his own, he sponsored a child in need for many years.
He will be greatly missed by his brother William, sister Agnes, niece Deborah Solaryk, nephew Allan Solaryk and friends and staff at the Menno Home.
Joe passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Menno Home at the age of 89 years.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rosa, MB with viewing prior to the service. Interment in the church cemetery.
