Obituary of Helen Kasdorf
Peacefully and with her daughter Lorraine and son-in-law Pete by her side, Helen took her last breath. The angels met her and guided her into the arms of Jesus on Sunday morning, July 15, 2007 at 9:30 a.m.
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Helen leaves to mourn her passing her only daughter Lorraine Harder, son-in-law Pete, granddaughters Lori (Sandy) Chochinov, Debbie (Henry) Sinclair, Mary-Lou (Todd) Harder, grandson Peter (Amanda) Harder; great-grandchildren Jaime, Sarah, Zachary, Faith, Ian, Joachim, Vada and baby Sam; two sisters and one brother . She was predeceased by her husband Abe and infant son Jimmy, sisters Susan and Anne Friesen, brother Peter Wiebe and parents Susanna and Jacob Wiebe.
Grandma taught us all about generosity and kindness towards others especially those less fortunate. She enjoyed many years in her beautiful vegetable garden. She was very well read and informed of current events. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. She spent the last seven years suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Three of those years were spent in the Grunthal Menno Home. We are grateful for the superior card she received there. The last years she lived at Riverview Health Centre. We will always be extremely grateful for the outstanding care grandma received while in Riverview.
The funeral service will be held Friday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church in Grunthal with interment at Grunthal Cemetery. Pallbearers are Abe Wiebe, Pete Harder, Henry Sinclair, Sandy Chochinov, Todd Harder and Peter Harder.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 – 120 Donald Street; Wpg., MB R3C 4G2
