Dad passed away peacefully at his home in Steinbach on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the age of 90 years. He was born to Frank T. and Mary Kroeker on October 15, 1916 in Blumenort, Manitoba. Dad leaves to mourn his memory two sons, Gordon (Kathy) and Peter; four daughters, Laura (Dave), Carol (Rodney), Andrea and Betty-Lou (Arnold); ten grandchildren, Clayton (Aimee), Jennifer (Darren), Kim (David), Vicki (Jesse), Wendy (Eric), Jonathan (Jackie), Jared (Sandi), Michael (Conny), Adam and Katelen, as well as by nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters. Dad was predeceased by his first wife Katherine in 1999 and by his second wife Betty in 2004. He was also predeceased by one granddaughter in infancy and four sisters. Dad’s sudden passing was unexpected but we are so thankful that the Lord chose to take him home in such a beautiful way - during his afternoon nap in his favorite chair. Dad was with us at family breakfast that morning and hat his grandson’s wedding the weekend before. He was able to drive his car right to the end and enjoyed his independence. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a short devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will also be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, on Friday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery.
