Tuesday, August 22, 2006, Katherine Penner-Thiessen of Steinbach, MB, beloved wife of Dan Thiessen, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 61 years. Besides her loving husband, Dan, of 3 ½ weeks, she leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Henry (Margaret) of Blumenort, Lorne (Annie) of Mitchell, Dennis (Laura) of Steinbach; two daughters: Verna (Dave) Friesen of Winkler and Bernice (Pierre) Frattinger of Mitchell; ten grandchildren: Alex, Nicolette and Samantha Penner, Jolene (Hank) Wall, Victoria Friesen, Justin and Katlyn Penner, Chantel, Jordan and Chloe Frattinger; Dan’s children: Marge Thiessen, Karen Thiessen Klassen (Warren) and grandson Morgan; Merrill Thiessen and Jeremy Thiessen. She was predeceased by her first husband Jacob B. Penner on March 20, 2000, her parents Henry and Katherine Kornelsen and brother Peter Kornelsen. Friends may pay their last respects at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 25, 7:00 PM (with a sharing of memories at 7:30 PM) and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held Sat, August 26, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover Street, Steinbach, MB, with internment to follow at Heritage Cemetery.
