Remembrance Day will take on a whole new meaning as one of God’s “soldiers” was tragically taken home on Nov.11, 2011. Mom (Maria Neufeld of Niverville, MB) was born into the Martens family and started a long wonderful, healthy life. She met and married Abe Neufeld and had two children, Alvin (Rene) and Linda (Gil Leclerc). She was predeceased by Dad in March of 1997. Along with her two children and their spouses, Mom is survived by three granddaughters, Angela (Darrell), Sheri (Greg), Stephanie (Ryan) and great grandchildren Parker, Paris, Megan, Cruz (great great grandson). Ginger, Hayden and Olivia. Also left to mourn is her sister Agnes (Abe) Kehler of Steinbach and many nephews and nieces. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Word of Life Mission Church, 233 Third St. S., Niverville. Interment at the Niverville Heritage Cemetery.
