Obituary of Albert Kornelsen
On September 18, 2006, with his family by his side, at the Health Sciences Centre, Albert Kornelsen, aged 71, entered into glory.
He is survived by Helen, his loving wife of 48 years, seven children, Tina (Sheldon) Friesen, John, Sue (Jim) Davies, Shirley (Doug) Dyck, Vic (Jayne), Anne Marie (Russel) Kehler, Mike (Liz), twenty two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Our Dad built up a large hog operation in Blumenhof and was always willing to test new and innovative farming methods. He also sold gravel and peat moss. When his sons, John and Vic, bought the farm, farmers in the area continued to seek him out for his expertise. Despite scarcely being able to walk, he returned to work one more year in 2003 for Remberg Farms. His patience with livestock was remarkable.
Dad always had time for his children and grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. We could count on him to encourage us in our ventures. We will miss Sunday afternoon chess games, puzzles, and brain teasers.
Dad was spontaneous and loved to travel. He would leave on a trip at a moments notice. Sunday night was no different as he made his final journey to be eternally with his precious Lord and Savior.
Dad, the next time we say hello, we will never have to say good bye.
Viewing will be held Thursday, September 21 at Springs Church, Steinbach, at 7:00 PM with a devotional at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22 at Springs Church, Steinbach at 11:00 AM, with interment at Blumenort EMC Cemetery.
