Passed away peacefully October 4, 2000 at the Bethesda Personal Care Home, Steinbach, Manitoba at the age of 91 years. Trudy will be dearly missed ,and lovingly remembered by her daughters; Trudy Dueck, Agatha (John) Goertzen, Marge (Doug) Evans; 23 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; sisters Susie Bergen, Helen Wiebe, brothers; Dick, Tony, Ed, Art, and Walter Wiens. She was predeceased by her husband Jacob T. Friesen, son Jacob, daughter Tina Dueck, one son in infancy, two sisters and three brothers. Trudy was a true pioneer. She worked hard under difficult conditions to care for her family. Upon retirement in 1963, Trudy and Jacob moved to Grunthal where Trudy enjoyed making crafts and gardening. After her husband’s death, she moved to an apartment in Grunthal. She enjoyed travelling and made several trips to the West Coast. Trudy lived with her daughter Agatha (John) Goertzen for two years and then lived in the Bethesda P.C.H. during the last four years. Trudy will be remembered as a warm, kind and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Viewing will take place on Monday, October 9th from 7-8 p.m. and half an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Grunthal Cemetery.
