Ed Wiens of Grunthal, Manitoba, and beloved husband of Tina, passed away peacefully Monday, October 9, 2000 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach Manitoba, at the age of 74 years. Besides his loving wife Tina of 53 years, Ed will be lovingly remembered by their four children and their families, Marge and John Harder, of Calgary AB., Edward and Rose Wiens of Vita, MB., Dianne and Danny Funk, of Grande Prairie, AB., Peter and Audrey Wiens of Grunthal, MB; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters and four brothers. He was predeceased by one daughter, one granddaughter, four sisters and three brothers. Ed was born March 10, 1926 near Grunthal, Manitoba. He worked as a farmer and a carpenter until his retirement. Ed’s special pastimes were hunting and fishing. Funeral service was held on Thursday, October 12, 2000, 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cornie Martens officiating. Interment took place at Grunthal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB. R3A 1P6
