Obituary of William P. Enns

William P. Enns, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, October 27th, 2000, 6:00 p.m. at the Bethesda Hospital Steinbach. He reached the age of 76 years and 11 months. Dad was born in Kleefeld, southwest of Plum Coulee, MB. on November 27, 1923. He married Aganetha Wiebe on July 6th, 1943. Together they shared 56 years, 10 days and 3 days. Mom passed away May 9th of this year. Their first home was in Alt-Bergthal, west of Altona. In 1948 they moved to Ile Des Chenes where they resided till 1985, then moved to Kleefeld. Dad loved farming, enjoyed planting shelter belts. When they retired to Kleefeld, Dad enjoyed family history. He published several family tree books. For many years he was involved with the Mitchell Seniors Center, as vice-president, president and board member. Let to cherish his memory are five sons and five daughters which are: William & Elvira Enns of Tourond, John & Maria Enns of Grunthal, Marie Enns of Birds Hill, Peter & Marlene Enns of Winnipeg, Agnes Penner of Oak Bank, Henry & Frances Enns of Kleefeld, Helen & Tim Smith of Oak Bank, Ann & Chuck Swaine of Winnipeg, George & Sandra Enns of Winnipeg, Margaret & Jake Voth of Birds Hill, 18 grandchildren and 8 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Agnes, one grandson, one great granddaughter in infancy, one son-in-law, his parents, three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters and their families, one sister-in-law; and her family. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2000 – 11:00 a.m., at New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church with Rev. John Penner officiating. Interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 31 from 7-8 p.m. with a devotional to follow at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church Building Fund. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at the Bethesda Hospital for all the special care they provided for Dad. “I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith.” Thank you The Family
