Obituary of Leo Tourond
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, with his loved ones around him through his long battle against cancer, on December 18, 1999.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Adrienne, and children: Lorraine (Norbert), Noel (Rose), George (Delores), Raymond, Eleanor (George), Irene, Eugene (Marilyn), May (Ken), Edith (Ralph), Joyce (Garry), Phil (Claudette) Bruce (Doreen), Stella and numerous grand children and great grandchildren.
Also by his 3 brothers: John, David, and James and 2 sisters: Aurise and Georgette and many nephews, nieces and relatives.
He was predeceased by his daughter Rita in 1950, his parents, two brothers Patrick and Noel and 4 sisters Victoria, Anna, Cicele and Elcie.
Leo was born on June 17, 1917 to Alfred and Octavie Tourond in Sandilands, MB. He married Adrienne on December 31, 1942, his wife of 56 years.
Leo served in the army from 1942-45. He operated his own logging and trucking business for about 30 years.
He loved to watch wrestling on TV, pitch horseshoes, play cards and darts. Family and friends were always happy to hear Leo play his harmonica at family home gatherings.
Prayers were held on December 21 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, and the Funeral Service was held on December 22 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alexandre Roman Catholic Church, Woodridge, MB. Interment followed at Sandilands Cemetery.
