Peacefully, January 4, 2001 at Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, Steve Sebastyen was called to eternal rest at the age of 73 years. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lucille, of 19 years, step-son Bruce (Judy) Ascoli, step-daughter Bev (Joel) Stimpson, grandchildren Brooklyn and Sheradin, Calvin and Megan, one sister Irene (Dennis) Lebleu, nephews John (Connie) Lachnit, Ken (Rachel) Lachnit, niece Linda (Mario) Boily, two great-nephews and two great nieces. Steve was predeceased by his parents Victor & Catherine and one brother-in-law Paul. He was born in Hungary, December 17, 1927 and moved to Canada when he was 7 years old. Steve worked on the family farm near Woodridge until the mid 1970’s. He began working for Natural Resources in 1977 and was employed there until his retirement in 1992. Steve enjoyed being outdoors. His activities included picking berries and mushrooms, gardening, hunting, and he especially enjoyed ice fishing. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January, 10, 10:30 a.m. at St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Woodridge, MB Interment at the Parish Cemetery. Reception at Woodridge Hall. The family would like to thank the nursing staff for their care and the visitors for their thoughts and prayers that were with Steve over the past couple of weeks.
