Elizabeth (Betty) Goertzen, 85, of Mitchell, MB passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Bethesda Hospital with family at her side. She is survived by 11 children, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren as well as her sister Tina, two brothers and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom will be remembered for her gentle spirit and generosity. We never left her place without baked goods or, during the summer, garden fresh produce. An avid writer, she filled many a journal with her thoughts, dreams and prayers. Mom loved gardening and flowers. She could coax the most stubborn plant into flowering. She faced challenging times with determination, resilience and an unwavering faith in God. We love you mom, we will miss you deeply. Your family The funeral service for Elizabeth Goertzen will be held Friday, July 30, 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with burial at Heritage Cemetery. Viewing will be at the chapel, half an hour prior to the service.
