Obituary of Abram Voth

Abe L. Voth, age 82 of Steinbach, Manitoba passed away peacefully on October 3, 2001 at Bethesda Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne and their children Dennis (Anne), Alvin (Susan), Myrna (Ed) Klassen, Sylvia (Robert) Reimer, Dianne (Greg Penner) and Mervin (Rhonda). Grampa has also left fifteen grandchildren to encourage Grandma. Abe is also survived by his brothers and sisters Katie, John (Nellie), Pete (Betty), Elvira, Frieda and Rudy (Kay). Dad was born April 9, 1919 in Sagradowka, Russia to Gerhard and Katharina Voth. They moved to Canada six years later and settled around the Steinbach area where he spent the majority of his life in the trucking business. He as married to Anne Schellenberg on October 5, 1944 and was to celebrate their 57th wedding anniversary this past Friday. Both mom and dad have been long time members at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church where they have enjoyed tremendous fellowship. The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 6, 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church. Interment followed in the Heritage Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Abe’s memory may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, PO Box 3619 STN Main, Guelph, Ontario, N1H 9Z9. The family wishes to express sincere thanks and appreciation to the medical staff that rushed to Dad’s assistance and those that cared so lovingly for him during his brief stay in the hospital. Although dearly missed, our husband, father, grandfather is in a much better place as he has gone to be with his Lord and Saviour.
