Obituary of Sue Donkersloot

We are deeply saddened to announce that after a twelve year battle with pain and suffering, our beloved Sue was able to go to the loving arms of her precious saviour on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. We will miss Sue dearly. We will always remember her love for God and her faithful spirit. Sue was a constant prayer warrior who loved to do things for others. She was a loving wife to Tony; a caring mom to her sons Josh and Matt, who were the light of her life; a devoted mom-in-law to Jo and Rach; and a proud grandmother to Clyde. She was delighted to be able to attend the weddings of both her sons and has thoroughly enjoyed being a special part of their lives and eagerly welcomed the experience of having “daughters”. Sue was born on March 7, 1953 in Paraguay to Jacob and Marg Hiebert. She is survived by her mother; two brothers, Jake and Sieg (Wanda); one sister, Regina (Abe) Giesbrecht; and their families; her parents-in-law, Hans and Willy Donkersloot; Dave, Randy (Cynthia), Marilyn (Tim) Koop, Ken (Mona) and Tim (Kelly). She is predeceased by her father, two brothers, and two sisters. She was a firm follower of Christ and her life was directed by His word. She never missed an opportunity to minister to those around her. A piece of scripture that was particularily meaningful to her was Matthew 25:34-37: “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?’” Thanks to all the staff at Health Sciences Centre, SICU. Special thanks to Chris Mynarchuck and Dr. Oppenheimer. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie Ave, Steinbach.
