Obituary of Steve Grywinski

STEVE GRYWINSKI P.ENG. START THE DAY WITH LOVE LIVE THE DAY WITH LOVE END THE DAY WITH LOVE In the early morning hours of October 16, 2010, the Lord extended his hand to Steve Grywinski and ended Steve’s valiant battle after heart surgery. He fought with courage and dignity, winning in the end and finding peace. His 66 years on Earth brought joy to those who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Alice of 39 years; his daughter Larysa; one brother, Bill (Luba); sister, Elaine Grzenda (Frank); and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, and friends. He joins in eternal rest his parents, Andrew and Pauline Grywinski. Steve was born and raised on the family homestead at Poplarfield, Manitoba. He attended school in Poplarfield, and after graduating he attended Red River Community College and received his Diploma in Mechanical Technology. After working a few years, he went back to school and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Manitoba. Subsequently he had been employed by Trane Canada Incorporated, MBH Mechanical Consultants, and Wholesale Heating. He had many professional affiliations. Steve was a member of the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipeg and at Rosa, Manitoba. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Eucharist Council #11330. Steve enjoyed the beauty of nature, outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, camping, home handicraft, and weekends at he family farm in Poplarfield. He also enjoyed entertaining and time spent with family and friends. Steve and his family very much appreciated the work of his doctors and the compassionate staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, the Concordia Hospital, and the Grace Hospital. Also, greatly appreciated were the support and spiritual nourishment given by Rev. Dr. Michael Kwiatkowski and Rev. Dr. Greg Zubacz. Thank you to family and friends who visited, prayed, and encouraged. Family and friends are invited to join us for prayers on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. and/or Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., both at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church at Watt and Munroe Avenue in Winnipeg. On Wednesday a reception will follow at the Holy Eucharist Parish Centre at 460 Munroe Avenue. Interment will be at Rosa, Manitoba, beside the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church where Steve and Alice were married. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if donations in Steve’s memory would be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street Winnipeg, Manitoba – R3L 0K6 or to the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery Fund, Box 24, Rosa, Manitoba – R0A 1N0. We’ll Miss You Vichnaya Pam’yat Memory Eternal
