Peacefully at the Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, on January 3rd, 2011, Lena Martha Feilberg, of East Braintree, Manitoba, passed away at the age of 101 years old. She was our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Aunt. She is lovingly remembered by her son Carl (Lorna) and daughter-in-law Doris; grandchildren, Heather (Dean) McDonald, Eric (Julie), Lars (Valerie), Leanne, Caroline, Victoria, Julianna and Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Reed McDonald, Chelsea, Chloe, Justin (Amanda), Brendan, Lauren, Riley, Kynan, Arius, Mikaius and Christopher, and many nieces and nephews. Lena was pre-deceased by Haakon, her husband of 71 years; son Dorwin; grandson Erin; siblings Liz, Anna, Emma and Ed; her parents Gotleib and Pauline Marquardt. Cremation has taken place, with interment at a later date. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on January 10th, 2011, at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, Manitoba. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lena may be made to the Villa Youville, 15 Charriere Rd., Ste. Anne, MB, R5H-1C9 or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank home care workers, Jeannette, Julie, Bonnie and Donna, for their care in helping Lena to remain in her own home until her late nineties; the Seine Medical Center, Doctor Lemoine and especially Doctor Doyle, for his years of support and friendship; the wonderful staff at the Villa Youville, for their love and kindness.
