On Saturday, November 6, 2010, our mom, Helen Harder (nee: Gerbrandt) said her final farewell at the age of 86. She passed away peacefully at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg with her family by her side. Helen will be lovingly remembered by her seven children and their spouses: Harry (Mary Anne), Peter (Lottie), Jake (Jan), Sharan (Maurice) Desmarais, Ed (Vi), Elmer (Jackie), and Karen (Dennis) Janz; along with her 33 grandchildren, their spouses and 30 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret, four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Helen was predeceased by her devoted husband of 56 years, Henry Harder, her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Gerbrandt, her brother, Henry, and one great-grandchild. Mom’s true joy in life was visiting with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and listening to her weekly fellowship music. Throughout her life, her faith always remained strong. We would like to thank the medical staff at the Concordia Hospital and all of her friends and homecare workers at the Woodhaven Manor in Steinbach for their care and companionship. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, MB.
