John K. Barkman of Steinbach, formerly of Kleefeld, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 7, 2010 at the age of 79 at the Bethesda Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Esther and children Leona (Ben Reimer), Shirley (Don Penner), Hildie (Gerald Friesen), Gerald (Tina), Alice, Alvin, Betty (Rudy Enns), 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Justina in 1979. The funeral for John K. Barkman will be held Thursday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Kleefeld Evangelical Mennonite Church, Kleefeld Manitoba with interment at the Kleefeld cemetery. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach Manitoba on Wednesday, November 10, at 7:00 pm with a short devotional to follow.
